Is spiritual growth an option? Can we simply coast along in our spiritual life?
No. We are commanded to grow into Jesus Christ. We are to be diligent in our spiritual growth. Christianity is not simply a “get out of hell” card; it is a living relationship with Jesus Christ that is growing and maturing, “…until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:13, NLT)
